Overview
This 6-day safari is designed by Guete Morge Africa to put you right in the middle of the Great Migration during calving season. From December to April, the great migrating herds of wildebeest and zebra gather on the short-grass plains of the Ndutu region in the southern Serengeti ecosystem. This is the best time to witness the synchronized birthing of hundreds of thousands of wildebeest calves and see predators seizing their opportunities. You will experience the best of Tarangire, the Southern Serengeti, the Ngorongoro Crater, and Lake Manyara.

This morning, your personal safari guide will collect you from your lodge. We'll set off for Tarangire National Park, driving across gently rolling Maasai plains. Tarangire is well known for its large elephant herds and diverse wildlife. From the open roof of our safari jeep, we'll explore the seasonal swamps, savannah, and the life-giving Tarangire River. We'll look for zebra, wildebeest, buffalo, elephant, and giraffe, and with a bit of luck, glimpse a lion stalking prey or a leopard resting in a tree. After an extensive game drive, we'll head to your accommodation for dinner and a well-deserved night's rest.

After breakfast, we head to the Lake Ndutu region, a spectacular landscape in the southern Serengeti ecosystem. The drive takes us across the beautiful Great Rift Valley. Lake Ndutu is a vital water source, attracting a wide array of wildlife. The majority of the wildebeest migration can be found here on the short-grass plains from December to April. We will enjoy an afternoon game drive in the Ndutu region before heading to your accommodation for dinner.

After a hearty breakfast, we will enjoy a full day game drive in the Ndutu region. We'll explore the diverse habitats here, including swamps, woodlands, and the famous Serengeti short-grass plains. We will witness the awe-inspiring sight of the great herds of wildebeest and zebra. From January to February, the herds undergo a synchronized calving, with over half a million young being born in a short three-week period. You'll watch as the young calves, able to run just minutes after birth, navigate the plains with predators waiting for their opportunity. We'll enjoy a full day of adventure before returning to our accommodation for dinner.

After breakfast, we will drive from the Southern Serengeti to the Ngorongoro Crater. As you first see the crater, it looks like a forgotten world. The drive down is an adventure in itself, and once you reach the crater floor, you'll quickly find yourself among large numbers of wildebeest, zebra, gazelle, and over 500 bird species. The crater offers the best chance of seeing the endangered black rhino, which can sometimes be spotted in the open grasslands. After a full afternoon inside the crater, we'll head to your accommodation in Karatu for dinner.

After breakfast, we drive to our final destination—Lake Manyara National Park. This is a relatively small but diverse park, known for its shallow salt lake which is home to thousands of flamingos. During our exploration, we'll see monkeys, giraffe, zebra, and, with some luck, the famous tree-climbing lions. After a final game drive and lunch, we'll head back to Arusha in the late afternoon, concluding our adventure
