Depending on your arrival time, you'll have the opportunity to relax and settle in, preparing for the unforgettable adventure ahead. As the safari capital of northern Tanzania, the vibrant city of Arusha serves as the perfect starting point for your journey.

After an early breakfast, your safari guide will collect you for the scenic two-and-a-half-hour drive to Tarangire National Park. The park is named after the Tarangire River, the region's only water source during the dry season, attracting massive herds of wildlife. Tarangire is renowned for its large elephant families, which can often be seen gathering by the river. You may also spot giraffes, zebra, wildebeest, and a variety of predators. The park is home to a staggering number of breeding birds and is famous for its towering, ancient baobab trees, some over a thousand years old.

We will enjoy a picnic lunch inside the park before a full afternoon of game driving. In the late afternoon, we'll head to your accommodation in Karatu.

Today, we'll drive to the cooler, lush highlands of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. When you first see the Ngorongoro Crater, it feels like a lost world. Formed by a massive volcanic collapse millions of years ago, this 260 km² crater is a pristine wilderness teeming with an incredible concentration of wildlife.

After descending into the caldera, you'll find yourself among large numbers of wildebeest, zebra, and gazelles, along with over 500 species of birds. The crater also provides one of the best opportunities to see the endangered black rhino. We'll enjoy a picnic lunch on the crater floor before your extensive game drive concludes. In the afternoon, you will return to your lodge in Karatu for the night.

After breakfast, we'll head to Lake Manyara National Park, a small but incredibly diverse park nestled at the foot of the Great Rift Valley. Everything here is on a different scale, with a shallow salt lake that attracts thousands of flamingos and a lush forest where you might spot baboons, elephants, and even the famous tree-climbing lions.

After a final game drive and a picnic lunch in the park, your guide will drive you back to Arusha. You can be dropped off at your hotel, Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), or Arusha Airport (ARK), where you will say goodbye to your guide and conclude your amazing adventure with Guete Morge Africa.
