Our drive is spectacular as we ascend into the highlands, offering a breathtaking first view of the vast Serengeti, a park spanning over 6,900 square miles. This immense landscape is home to more than three million large animals, including 1.5 million wildebeest and 250,000 zebra, with large predators following in their wake. We’ll enjoy a game drive en-route to our camp. After lunch, we continue with more game driving before arriving at our tented camp, where we'll dine in comfort and enjoy a drink by the fire under the endless African sky.

Over these three days, we will focus entirely on exploring the vast plains of the Serengeti in search of the Great Migration. The location of the migration depends on the time of year and could be as far as the remote North near the border with Kenya (August-October), the South in the Ndutu Region (January-April), or the Central/Western corridors during other months.
Our experienced guide will know exactly where to find the animals, leading us on morning and afternoon game drives to witness this incredible spectacle. We will spend a full day taking in this amazing earthly paradise, exploring the park's wildlife and incredible landscapes, and learning about the natural cycle that drives this phenomenon.

The Serengeti is home to the "Big Five," and today you might get the opportunity to see all of them. After a picnic lunch, we'll drive toward the Ngorongoro Crater. As we reach the crater rim, the breathtaking caldera will open up before us. This approximate 20 km wide crater is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and home to over 25,000 animals. We'll drive to our lodge, where we can witness the sun setting over the stunning caldera.

Very early this morning, we descend onto the crater floor for a day of wildlife viewing in one of the most incredible places on Earth. Known as one of the seven natural wonders of Africa, the caldera was formed about three million years ago. This enclosed ecosystem is 610 meters deep and covers roughly 260 square kilometers. It’s one of the premier places in Africa to view the Big Five in their natural, wild state, along with a plethora of other animals and nearly 500 bird species. After a delicious picnic lunch near the hippo lake, we continue our game drive before ascending the steep road out of the crater for our return to Arusha and the inevitable end of our adventure.

This relatively small but diverse park is named for the shallow salt lake that covers about seventy percent of its surface area. The lake, which floods and dries with the seasons, is home to thousands of flamingos as well as over 500 other bird species. During our final game drive, we'll look for monkeys, giraffes, zebra, and with some luck, the famous tree-climbing lions. After a final memorable game drive, we will return to Arusha in the late afternoon, filled with images of the African wilds to last a lifetime.
